First and foremost, Gray Goo Labs is me, Pete Burtis. If I fall into the trap of referring to myself as "us" or "we", forgive me, it's a bad habit picked up at my day job, and I'm finding it hard to break.
I'm an independent app maker from the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area in the United States.
I intend to make apps that I really wish already existed, that I know I would use every day if only someone would write. It would be nice to have a million dollar hit but I'm trying not to worry about that. I figure if I do this well enough, for long enough, good things will follow. I'll leave the million dollar fart apps that nobody really uses for more than 10 seconds to someone else. Readomator is the first example of this philosophy, and while I'm not quitting the day job any time soon, it's been pretty good to me so far.
And yes, I still have a day job, but my boss is the greatest boss ever, and lets me answer support email from work when I need to, which helps. (Thanks Tim!) I'm very proud to say that so far I've been averaging about 15 minutes from the time a support email comes to the time I reply, at least during the hours I'm awake. (About 10am to 1am Eastern time, give or take, if you were wondering.) I'm not promising this average will never drop, it may have to some day, but I'll be sad the day it does.
If I'm known for anything, it's my ability to write software. It is definitely not my ability to spell. (Please report typos!)
I hope you'll try my apps. I really hope you'll like them. What more can I say?
